On 24 May 2024, Professor Dr. A. H. M. Saiful Islam has taken the charge of Head of the Department of Agricultural Economics at the Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. Professor Islam will serve the position for the next two years. On 24 May 2024, a formal charge hand-over take-over ceremony was held in the office room of the Head of the department. Distinguished teachers of the department along with the respected Head of the other four departments of the faculty were present in the ceremony. Professor (retired) Tofazzal Hossain Miah, the expert member of the Board of Studies of the department, was also present in the event. During the event, all the participating teachers greeted both the newly appointed head and the former head Professor Dr. Hasneen Jahan. At the end of the programme, Professor Dr. Islam thanked everyone and shared his future plan about how he would serve the department. A floral reception and crest were exchanged between the former and the new Head. The event concluded with refreshment and group photographs.
